Step-by-step description of the Pico Huma route

If you have come this far, you already know the drawbacks of the Pico Huma route, then I leave you the steps to follow on the route, to have no scares:

1. jet station

We start the route from the chorro station, about 400 meters up through the streets of the neighborhood, we find the indications of the Haza del Rio route. Once we see the sign at the beginning of the route we continue the ascent through a forest of pines through which we will arrive at a fork where there is an electrical turret that remains on the right.

2. GR-7 trail

Near the turret we will see the signs for another long-distance path, specifically the GR-7, we continue the indications for this path, we must pass next to an old abandoned quarry and we will continue to the Port of Flanders. In the port of Flandes we will follow the indications for the GR-7 path, passing next to an almond grove. A few meters further on there is a crossroads, we must ignore the indications of the path that leads us to the right, we will continue along the path to the left.

3. End of the Haza route

On the path to the left we can see a white sign on a wooden post that guides us to the end of the Haza del Rio route, then we will pass through another small quarry and take a deviation from the path to the right. Rest zone This part of the path is perfect for making a stop to gain strength for the ascent to the top, on the way we will find a new sign that informs us about the circular route that surrounds Sierra Huma, we will continue going up taking the lane to the left, In the end we will reach a milestone with the MP brand.

4. MP milestone

From this point we turn aside, leave the path and take the one that goes up to our right towards Sierra Huma. When we reach a stone wall, we will ascend towards the west until we see a sign with a white arrow. From here we will continue advancing in an easterly direction, the path may have disappeared by now, we must look for a half ascending slope to continue with the ascent.

5. the cuts

In the upper area you can see some cuts through which a torrent of water descends, we must cross it and continue our ascent until we reach the top of the plateau where our path ends.

6. the return

There are several alternatives, the simplest and most striking for its landscapes is the option of continuing along the edge of the plateau where there is a pass between the rocks and in less than an hour we will be at the base of Huma. If you like hiking, these routes are essential on your list, and you can stay. If these routes have not seemed enough for your adventurous spirit, we recommend you to know all the activities that you can do in Álora.
