Los camperos de Málaga, one of Málaga’s most iconic sandwiches, camperos are made with round bread and filled with various ingredients. The most typical version includes chicken, cheese, ham, tomato, lettuce, and mayonnaise. There are countless places dedicated solely to serving camperos due to their immense popularity.
Typical Wine of Málaga
Everything tastes better with a good wine, and as true Malagueños, we know this well. Meals are often accompanied by sweet local wines such as Pedro Ximénez, Lágrima, or Pajarete. These are some of the most famous wines from the region, though Málaga boasts a wide variety worth exploring.
Typical Sweets of Málaga
After a great meal comes a delicious dessert typical of Malaga. There is nothing more typical than tortas locas. Tortas locas are discs of puff pastry, egg and icing, filled with custard. They are distinguished by their orange colour and incredible flavour.
They are the most famous sweets in Malaga and since the 1950s they have continued to delight all Malaga residents and tourists who visit the area.

Although we are renowned for our spectacular cuisine, Malaga is much more than just our food and climate; we also have our traditions.
Among Malaga’s traditions, its dances stand out, such as La Malagueña, a type of dance typical of the area with traditional folk singing, similar to the fandango or the Verdiales.
Verdiales, older than flamenco itself, began as a peasant song that has survived to this day.
