The most dangerous road in the world now restored
El Caminito del Rey is a walkway hanging over the cliffs of the Sierra Huma that winds along the wall of the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes. El Caminito is such a particular piece of engineering that fishermen used to hanging from the rigging of their sailboats worked in its construction, turned into masons.
Over the years, the lack of maintenance made the path not passable. Holes, knocked down railings and, in general, a lack of security, which caused the closure of the accesses and the prohibition of trekkers.
At the end of March 2015 we were finally able to enjoy the Caminito del Rey again, this time fully restored and conditioned to live an exciting experience, now totally safe.
