This is the El Saltillo suspension bridge , located over the course of the Almanchares River, in the area of El Saltillo, in a natural space, 50 meters high and considered one of the three largest suspension bridges in Spain.
Where is the suspension bridge El Saltillo
The path where we find this suspension bridge approaches the Almanchares river. To save it, the stage of the Great Path had to use asphalt from the road, although it was necessary, since the city council and the Provincial Council had built this famous bridge, known as the Saltillo suspension bridge.

Access to El Saltillo, the suspension bridge of Malaga

The shortest route is the one that goes from Canillas de Aceituno to Sedella. This route is 9 kilometers long, and although it is the shortest, it is the most difficult. In fact, its difficulty is considered high, due to the fact that it is a narrow route with steep slopes.
Another of the routes carried out is the one that goes from Cómpeta to Canillas de Aceituno. Its path is approximately 24 kilometers long, and its difficulty, although it may not be as high as the previous route, we make it clear that it is not a path of roses either, but one that you will enjoy a lot, especially if you like hiking and nature .
To carry out this route, you can do it without having to get tickets, unlike the Caminito del Rey , which you do need to safeguard the safety of all visitors.
In the Almanchares river ravine you can carry out activities such as canyoning, although for this, you need to be trained, have the necessary equipment and, in addition, an authorization from the Ministry of the Environment.
