Train to El Caminito del Rey from Malaga: new stop in El Chorro<\/span><\/h1>\n

Infrastructures in the city of Malaga are advancing by leaps and bounds and has managed to connect the city center with one of the most visited tourist enclaves in the province, El Caminito del Rey.<\/span>\"LaGarganta<\/a><\/p>\n

Today we will talk about the new train line to El Chorro, by which you can easily reach the Caminito del Rey.<\/span><\/p>\n

Origin of the Caminito del Rey<\/span><\/h2>\n

At the beginning of the 20th years, the operators who work in the Salto del Gaitanejo and the Salto del Chorro, did not have any connection path between them to be able to move themselves and the materials. From this need arose the first road, made by the Chorro Hydroelectric Society.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 1921, King Alfonso XIII was in charge of its inauguration, so that, after passing through the construction, it began to be commonly called “Caminito del Rey”, a name that it officially maintains today.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite being built for a purpose other than tourism, the incredible landscape in which it is located soon attracted the most adventurous and began to be widely visited.<\/span><\/p>\n

Where is the train to Caminito del Rey<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Caminito del Rey, as we have mentioned before, is located within the village of Chorro, belonging to the municipality of \u00c1lora. Therefore, when we take the train to the Caminito de Rey, the stop will be in El Chorro, and we will have to take a bus that will take us to the tourist attraction.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the city of Malaga, from the M\u00e1laga Centro-Alameda stop, we can take the C2 line, which previously only reached \u00c1lora and which, with the new project, has increased the train route to El Chorro-Caminito del Rey.<\/span><\/p>\n

The inauguration of the commuter train from Malaga to El Chorro took place on March 19, 2023 at both stops, which were attended by different central government authorities and the mayors of \u00c1lora and Pizarra.<\/span><\/p>\n

At said inauguration, the numbers of visitors who come to El Chorro each year and the importance of a suburban train as a motor for active tourism in the region have been discussed.<\/span><\/p>\n

And some of the participants concluded that it was a historic decision to include a medium-distance train that connects Malaga with such an important enclave as the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes Natural Park and the area around El Chorro.<\/p>\n

Lines, timetable and price of the train to the Caminito del Rey<\/h2>\n

The line to take is the C2 which connects both stops. The timetable may vary, as from lines to Friday the train to the Caminito del Rey will have a frequency of 11 trains (5 from Malaga and 6 from El Chorro) reaching 13 on weekends.<\/p>\n

The price of this train has been reduced by 30% compared to its price, as it is only 7.3\u20ac, an incredible price in relation to time and means of transport.<\/p>\n

The duration of the journey will be approximately 1 hour, a duration very similar to doing it by car, but with lower costs and more comfort.<\/span><\/p>\n
